Why somebody would pay $7,500 for two $525 tickets is totally beyond me. Is there a celebrity element that I am misssing? Was the auction performed amongst Madoff clients?
@ Statler: You could argue that the buyer wanted to sit next to the people who knew him. In my opinion however, anything that bears any relationship with Mr. Madoff, is popular celebrity memorabilia.
Without wanting to hurt the feelings of Statler & Waldorf ( btw did Pops fall off the balcony??), Floyd your post is the best. Welcome to the balcony. Nikos, Votanicos, Athens
Two corporate sector veterans (although the picture maybe a little predated) watch in awe "From the Balcony" as the world is falling apart.
True stories from Finance and beyond, that no one could possibly make up, and would normally leave the rest of us speechless, along with comments in the immortal spirit of the legendary Waldorf & Statler.

Now surely this doll doesn't cost $59 but people are bidding for it like there's no tomorrow.

Thank you Nikos, although everything is fully co-ordinated with my senior fellows on the balcony.
PS. The song is from Evanescence for those asking!
